Lobster fishermen arrested for undersized catch
Twelve Belizean fishermen have been arrested for catching undersized lobsters and fishing without valid licenses by Fisheries Department patrols this week at Glover’s Reef Atoll and southern waters. One hundred and sixty-four lobsters were confiscated and the men were fined over six thousand dollars which includes court costs. The Fisheries Department urges the public to follow all fisheries regulations and to report any illegal activity. Conch season is closed until the end of this month, lobster season closes in February.
