Human Rights Commission Comments on Mandatory Vaccine Proposal

Pitts also weighed in on the matter of mandatory vaccination when a pandemic threatens human life en masse.  Pitts says the constitution gives the government authority to make such a decision but within a certain context.

“That is the Constitution that we have – that if there is a situation in the country that your country’s health is compromised then the Constitution does give that authority to have a mandatory relief.  When you read, there are a few cases in the world – the conclusion is that states do have that power but it has to be taken into the context of what is happening.”
