Family Court moves to Commercial Centre

Story Picture
The Family Court has been relocated to the third floor of the Commercial Centre in Belize City. The new offices were opened today. According to the staff, the new site is definitely an improvement. Counselor Lorna Cayetano says their old office at the Paslow Building was far too small and limited their ability to expand. Cayetano says they will be able to hire additional staff and increase the confidentiality of their services.

“We were not able to do counseling in a more private setting while over here. We will be able to do it in a more private setting and also our clientele will be more comfortable because our clientele increases as the years go by.”

Viewers will also be happy to know that there will now be two cashiers to serve the public. Cayetano says this should address the problem of the long lines.
