Customs officer arrested for firing shots on the twenty-first
A customs officer who reportedly celebrated Independence Day by firing shots into the air has been arrested. Thirty-seven year old Thomas Young of Guadelupe Crescent was charged with discharging a firearm in public at midnight on Independence Day. Police report that he was behind the City Centre apparently under the influence of alcohol when he fired four rounds into the air. Officers on duty at the Byron Lee Concert made the arrest. They recovered the nine-millimeter pistol and four expended shells.
