PM Barrow believes current leaders can implement C.S.M.E.

For Prime Minister Barrow, greater effectiveness does not necessarily translate into less grander dreams for the region or the implementation of the C.S.M.E. Today Barrow says that he believes the current heads of government can get the job done.

Prime Minister Dean Barrow
“My Short experience with Caribbean heads convinces me that they always aim for the skies and I think that’s the way it should be and that’s what leadership is about. I don’t know that they would allow themselves to be long detained by the fact that you are not always going to achieve every last thing that you set out to secure. Speaking for myself, I would wish that that kind of can do attitude will continue. It seems to me that as well in the course of trying to achieve the goals of progress that we set for ourselves, when we encounter practical difficulties the collective wisdom of the heads, more often than not—far more often than not—is able to find ways around the obstacles. Basically, if what we set out to do doesn’t get done it is because it would have proven impossible to get it done. I am satisfied that the destiny of our region is in excellent hands and that we will make the kinds of practical progress that Prime Minister Thompson indicated we need to make.”
