Police catch one, seek another suspect in canal side murder

Story Picture
Almost a week after the murder of Levan Hinds on Kraal Road on September tenth, police have picked up their prime suspect and charged him. On Thursday night police located twenty-six year old Anthony O’Connor hiding in an attic at a home on West Canal. He has been charged with murder. Arthur Young and Kimberly Cassanova, who were present at the time of the arrest, will be charged with harboring a criminal. The incident on Kraal Road appears to have sparked two spin-off shootings on Saturday night and another death. One man has been arrested for these while Michael Pow remains at large. Witnesses reported that two men on bicycles fired shots at a home on East Canal, injuring Paul Welsh and then rode down the canal side and opened fire on the Vernon Street Fish Market. Fisherman Paul Garbutt was killed when a bullet struck him in the forehead. Police have picked up twenty year old Stanley Bradley and charged him with Garbutt’s murder and the attempted murder of Welsh. Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Michael Pow is asked to contact the police.
