Is Killing Drug-related?

Commissioner of Police Chester Williams also confirmed that a Belizean national was indeed shot and killed in Mexico on Tuesday night.  While he did not go into much detail, the ComPol alluded to what appears to be a drug deal gone bad.

“We have gotten that information as well and from what we have been made to understand that it may have been some drug-related issue.  We will still wait to see when we get official word from our Mexican counterparts and normally we get that through the diplomatic means.  And so, I believe that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Belize has been contacted by our counterparts in Mexico, giving whatever information needs to be obtained, informing the family and these sort of things.  So officially, we have not received anything from the Mexican government, no.”
