Six detained for seventy thousand dollar theft
A Punta Gorda businessman reported being robbed on the ninth of September of seventy thousand dollars worth of cash and jewelry during a burglary. Davidas Sukhlani told police fifteen thousand Belize dollars and twenty thousand in U.S. currency and an assortment of jewelry was stolen from the house on West Street. Police have detained six people and recovered almost thirteen thousand U.S. dollars at the home of a laborer on Jose Maria Nuñez Street and nine thousand U.S. dollars and seven hundred Belize dollars at another residence on Far West Street.
