Fireworks Planned and Live Stream Concerts Scheduled for September Celebrations
For music lovers, live concerts will be held across municipalities during the month of September. However, these will be performed without an audience and live-streamed, due to COVID-19 protocols prohibiting social gatherings. Also, there will be fireworks on the twentieth night. Only this time, you may have to watch the display from your porch or lawn.
Sapna Budhrani, President, NICH
“On the twentieth night we will have fireworks. We are hoping for fireworks. Once nothing else fails then that would happen. So far, it seems that is going forward with. That does not mean that if there is a curfew we will not abide by the curfew. It is one we can watch from home. That is one of the reasons why we have been a bit, not saying much, about what we are doing, because we can’t have an audience, as we would like to, and it is fine. Because it is September time you want to socialize, you want to party, you want to see. It is the time to see the pride of the country and when people come together the most. It is that time when we always are socializing with our family, our friends, our colleagues. Everybody is partying once you are in Belize. We are going to do something similar this year; it is not that we are not doing it, but a bit different.”
Budhrani says the N.C.C. encourages Belizeans to get vaccinated and follow all COVID-19 regulations.
