And while Shyne was sipping on D’Usse’ with Jay-Z, back at home, his political party was pushing back against the Government of Belize and B.T.L. in the B.T.L./Smart Saga. We asked Barrow whether he thinks his office should be represented in the U.D.P.’s position on these national issues.

“Foreign affairs are just as important as home affairs, so I don’t think that you have to do one or the other. You have to do both. And, that is why we have a cabinet of dynamic leaders. Chairman Peyrefitte kept me briefed every step of the way. He actually joined me in New York City to meet with the Diaspora, and other investors in regards to foreign direct investment. So, every step of the way I have been briefed with what is going on. We are all capable Members of the House of Representatives, Senators etc. As urgent issues arise, we can’t stop to wait for the return of the Leader of the Opposition who is dealing with foreign affairs that will impact home affairs.”
