Opposition Leader on Minister Mahler Comments

While Minister of Tourism and Diaspora Relations, Anthony Mahler was critical of some of the meetings that Barrow had with superstar celebrities, he says the minister does not see the value of building relationships with these celebrities.

“I know, despite the unfortunate comments that Minister Mahler made, he did say has agreed to meet with me and that he will work with me. So, I am not big on the cancel culture, so I will not try to wage war on Minister Mahler for the comments, but rather engage him and let him see the benefit of having people who have hundreds of millions of followers throughout the world, welcoming them to our jewel. Whether or not it happens, as statesmen we should have an open-door policy to all people to visit Belize.”
