U.C.B. student shot in abdomen
On Saturday night a U.C.B. student Trenton Green was shot in his abdomen by an assailant in a shop. Today the twenty-one year old youth was still in the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in a critical but stable condition. According to police, contrary to initial reports, Green was not shot because he refused to buy Jerome Goff a bottle of stout when he went to a store on Sarstoon Street to change a check. Police say their investigation has led them to believe there was more to the incident.
Insp. Mario Vernon, Head of C.I.B.
“It seems to me that Trenton Green and Jerome Goff were some sort of acquaintances. For one they were long-time residents at the same neighborhood. It is difficult to accept the circumstances which were reported. We have information that would suggest otherwise, but we need to clear that up as to whether or not an intention was there or it was an accident. We have not finished the investigation but from what took place, it is really difficult to accept that a man would just shoot another upon being refused a stout and the two people being long-time residents of the same area.”
Goff has been arrested and charged with use of deadly means of harm and aggravated assault.
