Suspect Charged for Double Murder in the West
A Belizean cook of Unitedville Village, Cayo has been charged for the double murder of eighteen-year-old Lloyd Myvett and nine-year-old Jamir McKoy. On Thursday, Jovannie O’Brien was formally arrested and charged for the crime which occurred on the night of August thirtieth as Myvett and the minor stood in front of a parked car outside of Myvett’s yard. It is believed that O’Brien was the gunman who approached the deceased and opened fire. O’Brien has been detained since Monday, following the deadly shooting. A search of his residence in Unitedville led to the discovery of two live nine millimetre rounds of ammunition and on Tuesday, he was arrested and charged along with Bettina O’Brian for the offense of kept ammunition without a gun license.
