The Honduran Band, Libana Sabigy, is in Belize for the celebrations and will be performing along with the Garifuna band Cultural Boys at New Brighton Beach. News Five spoke with Punta Rock artist Raymond “Hamma” Gomez this week who is inviting Belizeans to come out by the seaside and enjoy what both bands have to offer.

“They were just passing through and we have a nice beach side view out here and I said since we are in the celebration time and I am promoting Garifuna culture… And this is not only for Creole, or Spanish or Garifuna; it’s for all of us. This group is an international group and it’ll add a little spice to the Belizean society, no.”

Gomez says Libana Sabigy plays a combination of Punta, Soca and Punta Rock music. They reside in Santa Fe Colon, Honduras.
