Nex’US: A Digital Platform for Young People
A new digital platform for young people has arrived. Nex’Us has been created to function as a virtual resource center that engages adolescents and youth in learning and exchanging ideas and experiences. The type of activities includes webinars, meetings, socials, launches, and trainings. It’s described as a virtual safe space and it is being launched on Saturday September eleventh, right here on Channel Five.
Nadir Mendoza, President, Adolescent & Youth Alliance
“It is a safe space for young individuals. So basically, we have different activities. You can host webinars, meetings, socials, launches and trainings on it. Young people can call in a request to have an event on this topic, email us and say you want to host a meeting on this topic. We send out invitations to your respective people and we come in and talk and speak, speak about your concerns basically, addressing their problems, what they see could get done and how we can make those changes applicable in the future. It’s a virtual resource center that engages us adolescents and young people, exchanging ideas and experiencing. So, to get logged on to this website, to this platform, you could go to nexus.ncfc.org.bz and login and register. Or you could go on to the UNICER page, scan the QR code and you go straight to the link that says, log in and register. You enter your credentials and you will be signed up on the platform for the official launch on September eleventh.”
Paulette Wade, Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist, UNICEF
“This virtual space, I want you to image something like a resource center, where you have several rooms to enter different spaces. So this is something like that. The maximum capacity of nexus is five hundred, which is unlike other spaces; there is no limit in terms of the time in which you can have all of these conferences, talks, meetings. Several meetings can happen at the same time. Those meetings can be divided into several breakout rooms.”
