Toledo families give Prime Minister handmade furniture
On Thursday the Prime Minister Said Musa was in Placencia for a town meeting, today he received a gift from some families in the Toledo District. The Belize Indigenous Training Institute presented him with a set of furniture made by husband and wife teams from the village of Indian Creek. The Institute has so far trained nine couples in furniture making and says the project is designed to provide employment and income to people in the area. The B.I.T.I. is a joint venture training program between the Maya and Garifuna people of Belize and the Inuit of Canada and Greenland. B.I.T.I. has offices in Punta Gorda, Dangriga and San Jose Succotz.
