“It is a joyous occasion and so I appreciate getting the award yesterday and let me say that one thousand, five hundred police officers also got similar awards. So again, it shows that the government does recognize the effort of the police department in doing our best to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 virus within our country. So I want to say congratulations to all the awardees from last night, whether you‘re from the health department or from the coast guard or from the B.D.F. or from the police, I think that the awards were well-deserved and we just need to continue do what we have been doing or even greater than what we have been doing to ensure that we continue the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in our country.”
