Stolen boat headed for Honduras

A boat stolen in Dangriga is believed to be heading towards Honduras and its owner has launched a media blitz to try and recover it. Since the theft occurred in front of Jungle Huts Resort early Thursday morning, Arthur Usher has asked radio and TV stations to alert the public. So far several fishermen have called him to report that the boat and four dark skinned men, including one known as “Big Frank” Rodriguez and another identified as “Niño” have been trying to “borrow” gasoline from the fishermen on the southern cayes. Thursday afternoon the men reportedly went to Hatchet Caye and claimed they needed the gas to attend a funeral in Puerto Cortez, Honduras. When no one obliged them with any free gas they moved on to Round and Pumpkin Cayes. Owner of Pumpkin Caye Charles Leslie, told Usher the men stole a chain saw and other items which he believes they will try to barter for gas. They were last reported at Ranguana Caye. Leslie has asked fishermen friends in Honduras to be on the lookout for the four outlaws and Arthur Usher has reported the recent sightings to police in Dangriga. Usher says he knows it is his boat called the “Jungle” because it is still painted the same way, white on the exterior and blue inside, still has his T-shirt on the engine and was reported to be having steering problems. Anyone who sees the boat or is approached by “Big Frank” Rodriguez or “Niño” is asked to call the nearest police station or Arthur Usher in Dangriga.
