ComPol Breaks Down No Movement Sundays

This Sunday, September twenty-sixth and then again on October third, persons will only be able to leave their homes for medical purposes, emergencies, as an essential worker, for food supplies and fuel. The no movement Sundays is part of a recent statutory instrument introduced by G.O.B. in an attempt to thwart the active COVID-19 cases that have been increasing by the day. Today, Commissioner of Police Chester Williams gave an interview to the media to clarify what it means for the citizenry.

“I just want to make it clear that the no movement Sundays go across the board. And again, the only businesses that are going to be allowed to operate on Sunday, on those two no movement Sundays, are fuel stations, pharmacies, grocery stores, medical and veterinary institutions, businesses that provide public transportation, hotel and resorts for the purpose of serving guests as well as lodge and those other places of similar style. And so any other businesses will not be allowed to open on that day. There are certain categories of persons who may work at these establishments who need to get to work on Sundays and so those persons will likewise be allowed to move to and from work.”
