Shooter Not Part of Gangs Involved in Truce

Regional Commander of Eastern Division, Doctor Richard Rosado also confirmed that the group responsible for the killing of Gabourel was not a part of the recent truce brokered last week between PIV and BLC. Nevertheless, there are increased patrols across the city and those who are perpetrating crimes will be dealt with.

“We have increased police visibility in those areas. We have launched targeted operation in the affected areas and those individuals, or those criminal-minded individuals, who are hell-bent on committing violence, we will go after them and we will go after them hard. Those individuals who want to turn their lives around, we will extend a hand and see how best we can provide the necessary support system. We are also working with the community to stem the violence. We are working in unison with the Behaviour Modification Center, the Leadership Intervention Unit and the Department of Youth Services and many other stakeholders to see how we can address the gang violence as a collaborative effort.”
