Alleged Gang Members Condemn Killing of Minor
This morning, a group of individuals from the Lake Independence area came out condemning the recent killings of innocent young persons, including the most recent shooting death of fifteen-year-old Dwayne Gabourel. These men, who are known to have run-ins with the law for the alleged involvement in gangs, say that the gun-wielding youths of today have no respect and the killing of young people cannot be condoned.

“We never ever did that ina fi we older guys’ history. So the younger guys dehn weh di come now, dah that make the thing difficult because the people dehn weh know dehn fi get hurt wah always have a protection over dehn self and watch over dehn self so it wah harder fi yo ketch that individual. If you hurt wah individual weh know ih noh fi get hurt dah di easiest thing fi do. That individual wah neva expect fi get hurt because ih noh have no relationship with no kinda affiliation or nothing.”

“I think the individuals weh do dehn shooting deh, dehn simple shooting deh with dehn young bwai dehn stupid. Dehn fi get penalise for that cause we noh condone that; first thing. I’d a never ever mess with a child. I thirty-six like how I tell unu. I try make a pikney. I love kids and I always have dehn around me and I always treat dehn cause I love kids. I noh have no kids so I woulda neva condone and I woulda neva watch that. That dehn di chance dehn lee bwai; dehn di chance dehn lee pikney and I get tired ah that. I really get tired ah this. So I beg to all dehn so-called gang member, weh dehn call themselves gang members, please lef di pikney dehn out ah this.”

All ah we weh deh yah done old; dah fi dehn turn now and fi dehn di kill wah pikney mien, come on. I got three sons; that bun me, that bun me.”
