P.S.U. joins international picketing in St. Vincent
Delegations from government, NGOs and the private sector frequently travel abroad for training or to meet with colleagues. What made a recent trip somewhat unusual for a group of Belizean union leaders was that while in St. Vincent and the Grenadines last week members of the P.S.U. delegation got to take part in some industrial action of their own. The Belizeans along with fellow members of the Caribbean Public Services Association marched in Kingstown to protest what they called a case of unfair disciplinary action against a union member at the state owned broadcasting corporation and that corporation’s refusal to engage in the collective bargaining process. Leader of the P.S.U. delegation was Public Service Union President Margaret Ventura.
