Ambulance hits City Council trailer

An ambulance collided into a Belize City Council tractor this afternoon near the Lord’s Ridge Cemetery. So far all injuries reported have been minor but police are still checking into the incident. What they know so far is that Ignacio Lopez was driving a B.C.C. Massy Ferguson tractor towards Belize City, towing two small empty garbage trailers behind him. Reports are he was making a left turn at Western Avenue when an ambulance heading in the same direction hit the first trailer. Two people traveling on the trailer suffered minor injuries. The ambulance was being driven by Amir Matu of Santa Elena, Cayo. There were several occupants, but police do not know at this time if any of them were injured or if the ambulance was on an emergency run and using its siren.
