One prisoner recaptured, second at large

One of the Hattieville prisoners who escaped while on an outing in Belize City August 14 has been recaptured. Prison officials say Clarence Gentle was under surveillance on Neal Pen Road Tuesday night. When they tried to take him into custody he jumped over a fence. The Department of Corrections officers called for police back up and around 10:30 p.m. Gentle was picked up. He appeared in court this morning and was charged with escape. Gentle had been serving five years for attempted robbery and aggravated assault. Gilbert Humphrey remains at large. The two were part of the prison basketball team attending a Lake Independence game on Saturday when they made a run for it. Superintendent of Prisons Keith Hamilton says Gentle and Humphrey will not be granted any more privileges.
