MFA Tweets Support for Taiwan; Embassy Expresses Appreciation

Taiwan has thanked the Belize Government for publicly supporting it as tensions grow with Mainland China.  In a brief message to News Five today, the Taiwanese Embassy wrote, “The embassy would like to thank the Government of Belize for its staunch support to Taiwan. As a trustworthy and faithful ally, Taiwan will continue to work with Belize to preserve peace and stability around the world.”  The gratitude comes after Belize’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent a tweet today calling on the international community to ensure peace and security in the Taiwan Strait and Indo-Pacific region. The M.F.A. says Belize stands in solidarity with Taiwan.
