Grace Primary students to festival in Mexico
A primary school, which has built a reputation for itself in the performing arts here in Belize, will be showcasing their steel band, voice and dance talents in Mexico. The Belize Arts Council announced today that 25 children from Grace Primary School will participate in the Latin American Cultural Festival in Vera Cruz, Zacatecas and Mexico City this month. The children, who leave later this week, are being assisted by the Arts Council and the Mexican Embassy. They will be accompanied by principal Gloria Edwards and several teachers and parents as chaperons. The Arts Council says Grace Primary, which won 19 gold medals at this year’s, Festival of Arts, was chosen to represent Belize because “it is time for Belize to boast about our multi-talented children and Grace Primary had a package fit to represent the jewel”. The festival begins August 20th.
