Accused highway robbers brought back from Guatemala
It may have taken a while, but police have got their men. Two Belizeans accused of a holdup on the Coastal Road in May have been brought back from Guatemala for trial. Since May 17th when the payroll for the Paradise Shrimp Farm was taken at gunpoint and several people in the vehicle fired upon, police have searched for Clifford Caballero and Elston Bonilla. Following a tip that the two had fled to Livingston, Guatemala this week officers from Belize apprehended the duo with the assistance of the Guatemalan police. Caballero and Bonilla were charged on Thursday with armed robbery, attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder and use of deadly means of harm. The Belize Police Department has expressed their appreciation to Guatemalan authorities and says they hope the good working relations will continue.
