Caribbean Chicken Salesman Abducted During Robbery
Two employees of a Caribbean Chicken were roughed up and their truck stolen while they were inside on Thursday afternoon in Belmopan. Police report they were called to the University Heights area where they found a delivery truck abandoned in some bushes. They discovered a company salesman, Daniel Magana, locked in the freezer compartment. He and his coworker, Odin Herarate, reported they were delivering their product on Toledo Street when they were robbed at gunpoint by two men. Magana was pushed into the freezer while Herarate was hit in the face with a firearm and put in the truck. The hold-up men then drove off in the vehicle with both men inside. As they approached the Libertad junction, Herarate jumped out of the vehicle and escaped. An undisclosed amount of cash was stolen, and police have detained one person and are looking for another.
