Law Firm Alleges Defamation by Area Representative Tracy Panton
Copies have surfaced of a letter sent to Area Representative Tracy Panton by the law firm Glen D. Godfrey and Company. The correspondence, which bears today’s date, alleges she made defamatory comments about their clients, Stake Bank Enterprise Limited and Michael Feinstein, in a media interview on October 7th. The firm says her interview implied they entered into an Environmental Compliance Plan through some quote “nefarious or fraudulent means and that the same was illegitimate” end quote. Godfrey and Company say that if Panton wishes to avoid further actions being taken she must provide a written apology, but if that is not forthcoming, they will advise their clients to issue proceedings for defamation.
