OCEANA Recognizes “Wavemakers” 2021 at Virtual AGM

Oceana Belize held its second virtual Annual General Meeting on Thursday night. Vice President Janelle Chanona highlighted several of the organization’s accomplishments, including the use of technology, the ban on gillnets, and increased monitoring out at sea. But the highlight of the AGM was undoubtedly the recognition of this year’s Wavemakers, those individuals and groups making a change in the communities and marine environment. Here are the winners:

Nathalya Marin

I would like to thank the community for joining me and supporting in any way they can. And, I would like to thank Ryan for nominating me. Together we can make a change.”

 

Nazarene High School Environmental Club
