Ezequiel Bermudez is Killed in Horrific Traffic Accident

An hour and a half later, there was another road traffic accident; this time, up north on the Philip Goldson Highway in Corozal. Ezequiel Bermudez was riding his bicycle between miles seventy-five and seventy-six on the highway, when he was knocked down by a car driven by police constable Lazaro Catch. The impact sent Bermudez to the pavement. An SUV, driven by Juan Vivas that was travelling from the opposite direction ran over Bermudez’s body and dragged him for about thirty feet on the pavement along with his bicycle. Bermudez was rushed to the Corozal Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Notices of intended prosecution were served to both drivers and police investigations continue.
