One New Holiday, One Removed for 2022

The schedule of public and bank holidays for next year has been announced by the Ministry of Home Affairs. All the usual holidays are listed, and the latest addition of the George Price Day in September and Emancipation Day in August are there. But viewers will notice that in October, Pan American Day which was removed in 2021 will be replaced with El Día de la Raza beginning in 2022. Interestingly, Commonwealth Day has disappeared. Might this be a hint Belize is following Barbados’ lead and leaning towards becoming a republic? For the full list of days to put in your agenda for next year, visit the Belize Press Office Facebook page.
