UB President Search Deadline Extended

On the topic of tertiary education, the University of Belize is still accepting applications for the post of president. According to Minister Fonseca, the deadline has been extended.

“My understanding from a very brief report I received from the chairman is that they had extended the deadline. So, the deadline is not expired as yet. I believe it is November fifth is the deadline. So we will have to wait and see after the deadline passes. I think they have received a number of applicants, applications. After November fifth, we will have to assess them properly.”

“Has the University’s board considered, perhaps, keeping Dr. Palacio on in a permanent capacity?”

“I am not sure. I am not sure about that. I don’t know if he applied, if he is one of the applicants. But, certainly if he has applied, he will be considered.”
