Belize to Pan Am games
It may not be a large delegation, in fact it will probably be considered tiny, but the three athletes and three officials from Belize attending the Pan American Games in Winnipeg, Canada will be waving their flag just as proudly as the bigger contingents. The six Belizeans, cyclists Ernest “Jawmaine” Meighan, and Andrew Smiling, athlete Michael McKoy and officials John Swift, Lavern Swift and Chief of Mission Clement Usher left on Monday for the games which begin this weekend. Meighan, cyclist of the year for 1998/99 will carry the flag in the opening ceremonies.
