Aspiring comedian to hold show
Even though he won’t give Chris Rock a run for his money, aspiring comedian Kirk Yarde hopes Belizeans will run to see his stand-up routine. Yarde stopped by News Five today and gave us a preview of the show.

“What happened is one day I was coming across the big bridge no and a see a man crossing the street so I tell him a sey, listen to me, a see a dog deh follow you. He sey, a dog? A tell him yes. He look back he sey no, it’s not a dog, you know, it’s a rabbit following me all the way from home.”

“So you just me deh you know, act normal, and somebody tell you yu funny and you decide to get into this thing?”

“No, I did my first debut at Super Dad pageant at the Fiesta and they discover me and you know that’s why I come out now to do my second debut. What happened is one day I was out by the barracks and two blind man…one was shubbing the other one to climb the coconut tree. And him tell him se, listen to me, when you go up the coconut tree, I want you to bring down, throw down two coconut fu me. Rememba yu know he se, only two. But the tree was there so long the head drop off and the blind man couldn’t see just climb and he drop ova and the nex man tell ha, Lawd man, you to greedy man! I tell you bring two and yu bring down the whole bunch a coconat.”
If you like what you heard, Yarde’s performance will be held at the Bliss Institute on August 13th. And if you didn’t, other performers such as the Grandmaster and DaDa will also be on hand. Tickets are ten dollars each.
