Miami bound airplane has a scare
Some Belizean air travelers got an unanticipated dose of excitement this evening en route to Miami. Reports reaching News Five say the American Airlines flight which left Belize this afternoon encountered some troublesome indications on it’s cockpit instruments which the pilot could not correct. As a precaution he requested that the control tower at Miami International prepare for an emergency landing. As a result the Boeing 727 touched down to the accompaniment of a full fire brigade and paramedic rescue unit. None of the help was needed, however, as the plane landed safely. In related news TACA’s Monday morning flight to Miami experienced a different kind of excitement. It seems that shortly after boarding its passengers, the aircraft was attacked by a huge swarm of killer bees. Fearing that the aggressive insects might be sucked into the engines and possibly cause damage the flight was delayed while authorities, armed with Baygon, sent them dropping to the pavement. The flight departed safely after a short delay.
