Conch Shell Bay Fisherman gets five years for Robbery
And a fisherman from Conch Shell Bay will spend the next five years in jail. In court this morning, Magistrate Aretha Ford found thirty-three year old Freddy Grant guilty of Robbery after Said Silva testified that on June tenth of 2008, he was accosted by Grant along with an unidentified man at the corner of Vernon Street. Silva said that Grant pulled a knife on him and stole his wallet, which contained his bank card and other personal documents. Positively identifying Grant as one of the thieves was no difficult task for Silva, who has known his assailant for three years. Grant, however, denied committing the offense and said he had witnesses that would testify on his behalf but those witnesses were never presented.
