Car flips on Western Highway
A twenty-seven year a businessman from Belmopan is lucky to be alive after an accident this morning between miles three and four on the Western Highway. News five arrived at the scene moments after the accident.
Liji Sen was travelling up to Belmopan when he lost control of the small Toyota car. The car, which turned over several times finally, came to a stop in a swamp several yards off the highway. Steven Latchman who was coming in the opposite direction told us what he saw.
Steven Latchman, Eyewitness
“I was on my way to Belize City and I saw this car coming from in front of me lose control on the road, so I started to slow down and immediately on slowing down, I saw the car flipped right over on the side of the road about three or four times and landed in the ditch where it is right now.”
Sen who was wearing his seatbelt quickly got out of the vehicle. An ambulance was sent to the crash site. There the attendants treated and bandaged the drivers’ hand, which had been cut and checked for other injuries. Sen who was no doubt shaken by the incident said he does not know if it was the wet road that caused him to lose control of the vehicle.
