Junior Humane Society formed
The strays and street animals of Belize City have a new advocate. Fifteen Belizean youths have formed the Belize Humane Society Junior Chapter in the hopes they can educate Belizeans, especially the younger ones about taking good care of their pets.
Tanya Sievert, Junior Human Society Member
“People are letting their animals be neglected and attack other animals.”
Marco Villanueva, Junior Humane Society Founder
“People just think that a dog is a dog but a dog needs to be loved just like a person. If you treat your dog well, he’s going to love you.”
The members are trying to raise money to build an animal shelter. If you are interested in adopting any of the animals shown earlier or want to join the society, please contact the Animal Medical Center on the corner of Lancaster and Castle streets.
