Adult, 2 two minors charged with Bachelor Inn murder
Moving to the courts, in an update to the murder of a Chinese businessman at Bachelor Inn last Friday, one adult and two minors appeared in Magistrates’ Court on charges of Murder today. Chief Magistrate Margaret McKenzie could not offer bail and heard no pleas on this indictable offence. She remanded twenty-two year old Joel Palma, a former bus conductor, and his two underage accomplices into custody until their trial comes up on March seventeenth. Fifty-eight year old Tsong Ming Liou, who owned Bachelor Inn, was viciously beaten and stabbed to death when he refused to hand over cash demanded from him by four robbers. After the murder, the attackers made off with an undisclosed amount of money and two of them headed towards Dolphin Park, while two others were picked up by police on mobile patrol.
