Raleigh holds tenth expedition
On Monday, volunteers from twelve different countries will participate in Raleigh’s tenth Belizean expedition. Raleigh expedition leader Rupert Miller says even though it will be tough going for the volunteers, they look forward to begin working in Belize.

“We have about a hundred venturers and that actually with our eight project sites makes groups of about twelve or thirteen which is an ideal group for working with in regards to the development and experience that we hope to facilitate.”
“The common thread through all the staff as well is this motivation and the commitment to want to do something different.”
“The first couple days, especially in Belize because of the temperature for a lot of the guys is quite a culture shock they also a lot of them, the Singapore venturers have literally travelled half way around the world to be here so their body clocks all get a little bent out of sync.”
The volunteers are here for 10 weeks working on various projects, including a three classroom school building in Louisville in the Cayo District and in conjunction with the Ministry of Human Development, they will be constructing dormitories for the 4H program in Belmopan.
