Prime Minister says private sector key for bilateral agreements

Although the meetings with President Ernesto Zedillo and the Mayor of Mexico City Cuauhetemoc Cardenas were highlights of the trip and helped to forge strong ties of friendship with our neighbor to the north, as in the Cuba trip, the official delegation had its private sector counterpart. Prime Minister Musa says it is critical that Belizean businessmen and women be including in bi-lateral negotiations.

Said Musa

“It is very important that we bring the private sector along because it doesn’t matter how manner BI-lateral agreements we sign, unless the private sector, the people in the industry and commerce are fully on board and fully involved in the process we will not get very far. The private sector is the engine of development and this is why everywhere we go now we take them along because they are very important in the work of development.”
