Year old Cayo murder still unsolved

While police will likely conclude that the death of a baby in Lord’s Bank was a tragic accident such cannot be said for a killing in Cayo which still remains unsolved. One year ago the lifeless body of 44 year old Rosanne Orizzi was discovered on her farm in upper Barton Creek. She had been shot in the head and her unclothed body left in the yard. According to San Ignacio police the prime suspect in the murder, Guatemalan Francisco Esquivel, has proved elusive. He is now believed to have fled across the border although he had recently been reported living in Belize. Orizzi, a naturalized Belizean originally from the United States, lived alone at her farm but was active in church and community affairs.
