Cruise Ship That Stopped in Belize Has Passengers Who Tested Positive for COVID
There are reports coming out of New Orleans are that up to seventeen passengers and crew members on a Norwegian cruise line ship, which stopped in Belize recently, have tested positive for COVID-19. Reports are that the vessel left New Orleans on November twentieth and as it made its voyage it stopped in Belize, Honduras and Mexico. Even more alarming is the report that at least one person on the ship is being flagged for possibly contracting the Omicron variant. International press is saying Norwegian responded to the incident by asserting that all passengers and crew to be vaccinated before departure, and that the cases only represent a handful of the three thousand passengers that were on that trip. The Ministry of Tourism has so far not issued any statements and has not yet responded to our request for comment.
