Gimme 5 in Full Swing as we Celebrate 30th Anniversary

Day three of Gimme Five starts at seven-thirty, so your tickets better already be in the box because the prizes are bigger than ever. Tonight, News Five’s Duane Moody and Paul Lopez will be hosting and picking those lucky winners from the thousands of coupons that have been entered to win. The show is our unique way of giving back to our viewers who for decades have welcomed us into their homes at night during our newscast or early morning with Open Your Eyes and our other programs. Gimme Five always runs in the first week in December to celebrate the anniversary of the station which began on December ninth, 1991. Producer Shanice Middleton spoke about what’s in store.

“This year we are celebrating the big thirtieth anniversary of Gimme 5 and so this year we decided to go big or go home so we have amazing prizes and excellent line-up. Tonight is going to be night three, this is only two days of tickets and this is the amount that we have gotten so far. And what I love with Gimme Five is that it is our way of giving back and especially during this Christmas time, it somewhat assists people with some of the items that you need because in these prizes you walk away with cash, stay-cations, food items, alcohol to get the extra spirit from even mattress to TVs. So it is a wide range of items and it is only twenty-five cents per coupon.”

“So can people still get tickets?”

Shanice Middleton

“Well yes, you can go ahead and download them from our website if it is more convenient for you or you can come and pick them up from the office. Of course we are adhering to COVID-19 protocols so you have to wait a little, but tickets are still available. I would not recommend to wait, but if you are one of those last minute persons, you can get tickets up to Friday at seven p.m.”
