Caye Caulker school computer stolen

The 210 children of the Caye Caulker Roman Catholic School have had the information super highway stolen out from under them, before they even got a chance to log on. On Thursday night thieves broke into the school and stole the brand new computer, printer and scanner donated three weeks ago by the British High Commissioner. Principal Enelda Rosado told News Five that same Thursday afternoon she and a B.T.L. technician had been discussing how they were going to run the line to connect the computer to the Internet. She is heart-broken that after waiting so long the students will not be able to enjoy the computer this September as they had planned. Five suspects were detained by police on Friday but were released Sunday evening due to insufficient evidence. Anyone who knows the whereabouts of the R.C. school’s Hewlett Packard computer or accessories is asked to call Enelda Rosado at 022-2122 or contact the Caye Caulker police.
