Santa Elena woman raped at home
San Ignacio police have charged a Salvadoran with rape and indecent assault following a report by a 23 year old woman. She told police that on Friday night she was on her way to the outside latrine at her home in Santa Elena when a man she knew only as “Edwin” grabbed her. She says he took her behind the house and raped her. Police picked up Edwin Umano on Sunday.
