“This Christmas” Song Urges Belizeans to Cherish Their Loved Ones

Belizean Artist “Unlmtd” (Unlimited) released a new single just in time for the holidays entitled “This Christmas.” The stunning visuals by Sheron Hope that accompany it feature the artist’s family, as well as beautiful light displays from across Belize City. The artist told News Five that the message behind the song encourages Belizeans to appreciate the loved ones around them during the holidays, in spite of the tragedies of 2021.

“The song mainly dah bout not weh wih have but who wih have. A lot ah we gone through we own lee phases through the pandemic and we lose a lot, materialistic things as well. So, my goal is dah fih shed light pan who we have standing around we, you know, your kids, your wife. We tend to overlook deh type ah thing deh, when that dah the most important factor of the season. From 2016 to now, dah the first Christmas song for Unlmtd. And, likewise, dah the first music video I ever the incorporate my actual family eena, my two kids and my wife. When I wrote the song, I write the song because I mih just feel it. So, when I write the song and send it out to Sheron Hope, he dah like alright. He had a lot of visuals. One thing bout dah youth, he talented bad when it come to visuals. So he said, instead ah we do an in home thing, in house, mek we showcase the overpass, mek we showcase outta town, the Christmas tree and whats not weh everybody sih. And, we see wah lot of video out pan social media with the overpass, the lighting and whats not. So, we said this is the perfect time a lot of people wah could relate to it. Cause, dah nuh everybody could decorate their house. So, I really the cater to the people weh nuh really have it, just like I the cater to everybody. But, my main message dah who you have the stand up beside you. So, no worry bout yo nuh have it flashy, this that. You have life, you have a family.”
