Trendy Toys in Demand This Year

These days, Santa’s helpers have a lot to consider as they assist with the holiday shopping. Not only are standard classics still popular, now you have to keep up with what’s trending online.  As our news teams made the rounds in Belize City today, we hit some stores well known for their ability to meet the demand for children’s toys year after year.  And, if you haven’t already gotten what your little darlings have put on their wish lists, you better get out there pretty quickly because the most popular items trending this year are flying off the shelves. Always a child at heart, News Five’s Paul Lopez has the story.

It is the joy on the children’s faces that makes spending on Christmas gifts for them worth the while.

Mirab Shopper # 1“It does bring joy to my heart just to see the smiles on their faces always.” Child“I love you, Mommy.” Mirab Shopper #1“I love you too, sweetie pie.” Jules Usher

Those are the words of appreciation being shared between parents and children across the country, as the countdown to Christmas is quickly coming to an end. Over at A&R Belize, on the Phillip Goldson Highway, Head of Marketing, Jules Usher, says the entire week has been busy with shoppers looking for toys.

“Everything has to do with what is in market right now. And right now kids are so in love with Paw Patrol, Cocomelon and as you can see on the side, the shelf is almost empty. That is what people are looking for a lot, Barbie, the original ones as well. Everything has to do with toys, what is the trend, what kids are watching on Youtube, what they are watching at home. So, everything is the trend.”

Although too young to receive their  actual driver’s licenses, many kids request miniature drivable vehicles. So, a number of those rolled out the store very quickly this year. Over at Golden Bay, located on Marine Parade, the rush to get Christmas gifts for the children began in mid December.

We have customers mostly that come here and ask for budget,  they have their budget. We try to offer them something good, something pretty, something kids will really love. So we have like mostly for toddlers or for the kids ranging ages three to five. We have different small stuff, but it can be very useful for them when they play. It all depends on what the child wants, but mostly bicycles are something they really, really love. They like to go outdoors, kids like outdoors stuff. That’s why we offer mostly outdoors stuff.”

Yes, children have been inside all year, which has probably caused many parent’s heads to spin like this little dolphin toy inside Golden Bay. (MVI_4114) Meanwhile, over at MIRAB, man’s best fury friend was not the only one having all the fun.
