Belize hosts anti-drug trafficking conference
The Belize Police Department is this week hosting a “Strategic Anti-Narcotics” meeting on drug trafficking in the region. According to Commissioner of Police Ornel Brooks delegates from Mexico and Central America, the United States and Canada have one goal in mind.

“To develop a counter narcotics strategy with the aim of preventing the flow of narcotics through the Central American and Mexican region.
Belize is a part of the Central American region and we play a real integral role in the fight against narcotics. We are at the forefront and we are happy to be hosting the conference. It is the first time it is being held in Belize and there are several issues that we will be bringing to the table.
Each country will be giving their different perspectives. It is certain with the desire to come out with the understanding and mechanisms for cooperation in the region.”
The conference at the Radisson Fort George ends on Saturday.
